Do you ever want to escape reality? Leave your life for a little while… the job, the responsibilities, and the pressures of every day tasks? As someone who grew up with a family who loves to travel, I can honestly say that traveling to new places is the perfect medicine for a case of the longing to avoid reality.
No matter your interests, no matter your ambitions, there will always be somewhere that you can travel to. Allowing yourself to step away from your typical routine, or even a routine vacation, is healthy. It allows you to open your mind and put things in perspective. What I mean is, once you go somewhere you never imagined yourself going, you won’t regret it. Every place has beauty, and every trip has lessons.
When I say step out of your routine, I mean, do things you’d never thought you do. For example, I’m scared of heights. On trips I take with my family, I’ve had to zipline over streets, hike tall mountains, and stand on the edge of cliffs. Being able to travel to new places also means to explore new things. To me, it’s a privilege to even be able to explore new places, but it’s an experience to be able to be pushed to your limits. Trust me when I say, exploring a new city never gets old.
For those of you who travel, I don’t have to explain the benefits. But for many of you that don’t, please let me explain how beneficial seeing new views is. With sightseeing, it isn’t all about being a “typical tourist.” It provides new views into other’s lifestyles, other landscapes, and other cultures. I have not traveled out of the country yet. My family and I have made it to 49/50 states. Let me tell you, some of those states, it feels like you aren’t even in the U.S. anymore. It’s insane the difference between the cornfields and dirt roads of Indiana to the red clay of Arizona and the sand and greenery of Hawaii, etc. Each state has its own unique features and monuments that is beneficial. In all honesty, it teaches you so much without it feeling like learning. With that being said, I have this personal goal of going out of the country once I’ve hit all 50 states. I don’t know HOW the heck I’m going to do that since the 8-hour flight to Hawaii was pretty rough, but we’ll see 😊
Overall, the purpose of this blog was to inform those who don’t have traveling as a goal in life that you may need to reconsider. I feel that it is healthy for a person to be able to open their mind to new things & see new places. It is so enjoyable, especially with the right people. I plan to post blogs going more in-depth about places I’ve been & what I recommend, but this is enough for now.
Talk soon.
